John and Ashley Richter
HI THERE!

Welcome to Richter Ranch Designs!

We're Ashley and John Richter and we specialize in making your Pinterest dreams come to life!

John focuses his time designing and building one of a kind projects, including furniture pieces, home decor items, and other custom woodworking builds. He enjoys working and communicating with clients to make their ideas and vision come to life, while Ashley specializes in marketing and communicating with clients. Together, we work tirelessly to ensure every client feels valued and has a great experience from design to delivery.

Our story begins in 2014 when John built us a beautiful dining room table to host our first Christmas together. At the time, he was working on his degree in physical therapy. Our table went over so well and we quickly realized there was a demand and need for hand-made, quality furniture and other items for the home.

In 2015 we created a Facebook page to display our projects. That’s when our hobby quickly became an actual business. John’s passion for creating unique products grew and he quickly realized how much he enjoyed working one-on-one with clients to help them achieve their vision. After graduating PT school and needing a break from working in the healthcare field, he decided to pursue wood-working and growing the business full-time.

We are huge advocates for supporting local businesses, such as shopping locally or collaborating with other business owners. When you support small businesses, you help empower people to chase their dreams and do what they love! Thank you for allowing us to be on this crazy, fun, busy, rollercoaster that is entrepreneurship. We have truly enjoyed working with all of the wonderful clients we have met along our journey and can't wait for what the future holds!

All of Richter Ranch Design's products are handmade locally in Polo, Illinois. As a hobby quickly grew into a business, John outgrew his original work space. In 2015, while John was a full-time student in physical therapy school, he began renovating a livestock shed on the family farm to house Richter Ranch Designs. The shed is now a fully functioning wood shop that allows John to create your beautiful furniture and custom builds. While the shed is only used as a work space, John and Ashley are always happy to meet with clients in the wood shop by appointment to discuss project details.
